ABCs & 123s

Some quiet reading time in the library - those bean bags are a hot commodity, so we have to assign students to them each week to keep it fair 😂

If you missed our recorder chapel, here's a snippet of how great these kids sound!

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day for a parade!  Your children did an amazing job!  They followed every instruction well, and at the end all of them were safely returned to you.  Thank you for all your help and cooperation with that!

PLANT SALE - I'm sure you've heard - the PLANT SALE is coming soon!  We've been preparing at school and are excited to see you Thursday, May 21 starting at 7:30.  Please spread the word to all your family, friends, neighbors, church people, etc. - we're hoping for a BIG crowd!  The plants are looking good (this picture is from Monday)!  Hopefully we can keep them that way for two more weeks😂🤞!

Each student will be assigned a "shift" to work, and I will need a few who can be to school early on that Thursday morning (7:30).  If you are able to get your student dropped off at 7:30 on Thursday, please let me know and I will plug them into that first shift slot.  Thank you!

GUINEA PIG SUMMER HOME - Stormi is looking for a temporary home during the summer months. If your child(ren) have been asking for a(nother) pet, this is the perfect opportunity to appease them with a "short-term" pet. All supplies are provided (cage, bedding, food, etc.) for the summer. This can be a single family, or shared by multiple families throughout the summer. Stormi requires very little maintenance, and the small duties that do need to be performed can certainly be handled by your children - your 4th grader is an expert at caring for Stormi! Please let me know if you would be able to have her for the summer. Thank you!

END OF YEAR AUCTION - This year the students have been earning tickets in our classroom and are anticipating the auction in our classroom where they get to spend those tickets.  There will be some live auction items as well as some items assigned a purchase price.  I'm turning to you to help me create a nice supply of prizes that the students will be excited about.  These can be brand new items, but also "garage sale" quality items as well - something that your child is done with but another child might still enjoy.  Typically the items range in price from $1-$10+.  I will pick up some things myself as well, focusing on novelty toys, popular toys, seasonal toys, candy/food items, activities, etc.  If you have anything you'd be willing to donate or purchase, please feel free to send that into school at any time.  I'll begin creating a pile in my office in preparation for the big day during the last week of school.  Thank you to those of you who have already donated!  The students and I appreciate your generosity!

MAP testing wraps up next week.  It's looking like we will test on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Please try to limit unnecessary absences.  Thank you!

LIBRARY - Today was our last library day for checking out books this year.  All library books are due back by May 15th as the library staff needs time to reorganize and track down missing items.  Thanks so much!

As a parent raising children in this digital age, I highly recommend this presentation.  I have sought out helpful parenting advice from Protect Young Eyes myself and know its value.  If you are at all able to attend, you should go:  PARENT Event: Protect Young Eyes Presentation - As we continue growing in healthy technology habits as a school community, we invite you to a special presentation by Protect Young Eyes on May 19, 6:30-8:00pm at Engedi Church's Holland Campus. This event is designed to help families navigate the complexities of the digital world and foster safer online environments for our children. Join Protect Young Eyes for an evening of insightful discussion and practical tips on managing technology in the home. RSVP: Please let them know you’re coming by visiting the Engedi RSVP site.
