ABCs & 123s

What a fun week!  We kept busy in SO MANY WAYS!  Here's a little peek into the photogenic moments😁.

A little barn chores....

A little word work practice...

A little math game for factors and multiples....
A little lightning at recess...
A little reading fort action....

And a little box stacking and pie the principal!

MATH TEST - We took a math test covering factors and multiples this week.  If your child's score is less than desirable (we typically say that is 80% or lower), you may assist them in fixing it up and return it on Tuesday.

WORD WORK - Because of the shortened week next week, we will not be having a word work test.  We might bring home our next list, but the test won't be until March 27.

READING AND MATH MINUTES - As we enter into our last quarter of the year (WHAT!?!?!), we will transition to mad minutes that will combine both the multiplication facts and the division facts.  These will be a bit tricky at first, but I'm sure the students will rise to the challenge - they have made awesome progress so far this year!  So during your child's 10 minutes of practice a day, make sure they are practicing BOTH multiplication and division starting on Monday until the end of the year.  Since there is no school on Monday, students will be turning in their current reading and math homework on Tuesday and I will pass out the new recording sheets on Tuesday as well.  Please plan to begin the new week on Monday as we normally do though, even though the recording paper won't be in your hands until Tuesday.

LANSING TRIP - The big day is coming!  Please read over the purple note that came home today, or check out the same information in the previous blog post.

CONFERENCES - This Spring the 4th graders will be doing student-led conferences.  This will be a special time for just you, your 4th grader, and me to reflect on their growth in person (no siblings please).  More details will fall into place later, but since the conference sign up email came out from Holland Christian (on Feb. 12), keep that in mind as you choose your time for your conference.  Thanks so much!

GUINEA PIG - Are you going to be home for the majority of Spring Break?  Our guinea pig, Stormi, is looking for a place to stay where she will be warm and fed.  She can go a day or two without fresh food, so if you have a night or two away planned, she will still be just fine.  But when you are home, she is sure to be a good source of entertainment for the kids in your home!  If you are able to take her for the week, please sign up here.  Thank you!
