Playing along on our recorders at the Link-Up Concert with the Holland Symphony this week.
Learning from Mr. Russ, our HC Chaplain, about what the Bible says about justice vs. laws. This was a hot topic in our recent fantasy read-aloud story, so we decided to invite Mr. Russ to help us discern how Jesus would address this topic. The kids had lots of questions, and he related to the students beautifully. He was very impressed with the depth of thinking that your children produced!
Maybe you've heard, in 4th grade we do an economics unit. To help us get a hands-on experience in the world of producing products for profit, we will be using the resources we have at Rose Park (our greenhouse) to grow some plants that you and your friends and relatives will be able to purchase and transplant into your own gardens this summer. This week we put our first round of seeds into the soil - we planted oregano, parsley, basil, and cilantro. After spring break the rest of the 4th graders will get some pepper and tomato plants started, and hopefully by May 21 we have some nice plants for your gardens!
LANSING - The big day is less than a week away! To say we are excited is an understatement! Please refer back to this blog post for reminders of what to pack and also what NOT to pack. We are leaving from school at 7am - don't miss that important detail!
GLOW DAY: Next week Thursday we will be having Glow Day in music class. This is a reward that was earned for good class behavior throughout the year. All of our music activities that day will revolve around hands-on, glowing/light-up items. It is going to be a blast! Your child is welcome to wear clothing that will "glow" under the black lights. Most white and neon colored clothing appears to glow. I will be providing a simple glow necklace for each student, but If your child has anything they can wear that lights up/glows (glasses, hat, etc...) they are welcome to don that as well. No extra toys please. Thanks for your support.

Hello Rose Park Parents! Exciting news… we have a new book fair company this year—Literati—and the online fair is officially live! Shopping online is a great way to find books that won’t be available at the in-person fair. It’s also the best way to purchase from teacher wishlists, since some of those titles may not be on-site. A special bonus: Gift cards are available online! This makes it easy for students to shop at the fair without bringing cash to school. Start browsing here: https://literati.com/store/?school=rose-park-christian-school-holland-mi Happy reading!
The in-person book fair will take place at Rose Park on April 22, 23, and 24.
